Bonnier Publications Shows Profit in 2009

Bonnier Publications ended 2009 in the black, thanks to strategic planning.

Despite an economic crisis and plummeting ad sales, Bonnier Publications ended 2009 with a profit of SEK 205 million, a result that ranks it among the best in the magazine industry. With headquarters in Copenhagen, Bonnier Publications publishes a range of language editions of the titles Illustreret Videnskab, Historie, Bo Bedre, I Form, idényt and Costume, among others. Markets include Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia and the Netherlands.

Despite a tough economy, Denmark's Bonnier Publication turns a record profit of $40 million USD.

Danish Bonnier Publications, the largest magazine publisher in the Nordic region, had sales of 2.022 billion DKK (approx. $340 million USD) in 2008, turning a profit (EBIT) of 239 million DKK (more than $40 million USD).   Bonnier Publications, headquartered in Copenhagen, is the third most profitable company in the Bonnier Group.

"We are absolutely satisfied with the result when you consider how the economy changed dramatically in 2008," says Michael Cordsen, CEO Bonnier Publications. "That we reached a margin of 12 percent is fantastic."
