Science Fair at Parenting

How do you help parents get their kids excited about science? With an online science fair, courtesy Parenting magazine.

When Parenting magazine wanted to come up with a way to help moms and dads get their kids excited about science, technology and the environment, they took a very hands-on approach: the Virtual Science Fair. The contest encourages kids to share their love of science by submitting a photo or video of a science experiment they completed, along with step-by-step instructions for the experiment.

The partnership is intended to significantly grow Parenting.com's audience and AOL's reach in the valuable parenting category, with links to Parenting.com articles featured on the AOL home page and across multiple Lifestyle channel properties.

Get our your party hats and forks, it's party time at Toca Boca and Parenting magazine. The two companies have cooperated on Parenting's Birthday Party Playtime, a new universal app for children designed for play on the Apple iPad, iPhone, and the iPod Touch.

Parenting Ages & Stages App Goes Android

Parenting magazine takes a step forward with the new version of its popular Ages & Stages application, now released in a version on the Android platform. The app, released originally in June 2010, also has new features to the iOS version.

Bonnier Corp. Wins Big at Digital Awards

Bonnier Corporation took home six awards at Media Industry Newsletter's (Min) "Best of the Web" Awards ceremony today. The annual awards recognize digital excellence and honor magazine brands that "did not merely react to changing technology, but drove innovation."

Bonnier Corporation in Top Five for Ad Page Increases

Bonnier Corporation in the U.S. makes the top five list of companies with the biggest ad page increase from 2009 to 2010.

Magazine industry online publication Min released its list of magazine publishers with increases in ad pages from 2009 to 2010, where Bonnier Corporation landed in the top five at the No. 4 spot.

According to Min, "of Bonnier's 21 titles, the Parenting Group-Parenting School Years (+23.37 percent) and Parenting Early Years (+21.50 percent) - were the company's advertising champions in 2010. Saveur (+18.98 percent) was a close third."

Parenting Releases First App for the iPad

The Parenting Seasons app from Parenting debuts.

Parenting Seasons has debuted, a new quarterly publication available exclusively on the iPad. Parenting Seasons provides moms with tips for games, crafts, and activities for the whole family, and will be released four times a year: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

Bonnier Corp. Boasts 16 Finalists in Ozzies and Eddies

Saveur and Field & Stream garner three nominations each in Folio's annual awards for magazines.

Folio, the main U.S. magazine industry organization, has announced the finalists for its annual awards, the Eddies for editorial content and the Ozzies for graphic design. Competing for the prizes are 16 nominations from Bonnier Corporation magazines - Saveur and Field & Stream garnered three nominations each.

Parenting Makes Ad Age's Magazine A-List

Ad Age's Magazine A-List for 2010 has been announced, and for the first time, Parenting is on the exclusive list.

Parenting joins Harper's Bazaar, the Atlantic, Wired and Vice in Ad Age's annual magazine A-List. The list, awarded yearly to the top magazines of the year, was announced at the American Magazine Conference in Chicago today.
