Bink: “It’s time to see Google as our biggest competitor for advertising money.”

Since the beginning of 2010 some 60 people from different Bonnier companies came together at Bink, a new web company in new offices in Stockholm. The company is the first under the new business segment Bonnier Digital. Martin Ahrend, CEO of Bink and Mats Göthlin, CTO Bink & Bonnier Digital are in charge.

"The mission is to make profitable those Bonnier websites that are financed through advertising," says Ahrend. "But it is important to remember we are not a shared service center for the web. We work as partners and we have had different discussions with the Group's different companies. For example, di.se will be launched with our new platform within a few weeks, and ten sites from Bonnier Tidskrifter will be launched several weeks after that.

Bonnier Publications Launches New Website

In the coming days Bonnier Publications will launch its new corporate website. Lars Kivig, web coordinator for Bonnier Publications, tells more

The new corporate website is built on the open source platform Drupal.

"We chose the system in order to be able to develop our sites more dynamically. With Drupal as the basic platform, our focus will be on development instead of technical limitations. It also gives our editors a tool to simplify their daily work, making them more agile. This is important for a fast-growing media channel like the Web," explains Lars.

Goldfish best web idea

About 60 startups participated in 24 Hour Business Camp at Yasuragi Hasseludden in Stockholm. In the fierce competition, Goldfish CRM won Bonnier's newly instituted awards for best business model

24hbc is a participant-driven conference where entrepreneurs from all over Sweden come together to create and launch a web business in 24 hours. At the afterparty in Stockholm, Bonnier, who also co-sponsored the event, handed out a prize for best business model.

Bonnier R&D sponsors Sweden Social Web Camp

One weekend in late August, 200 of the most active players on Sweden's Internet scene gathered on an island off the southeast coast of Sweden to discuss social media on the Web. The event, Sweden Social Web Camp, was sponsored in part by Bonnier R&D.

Tomas Wennström, the Internet entrepreneur behind the podcast and blog whatsnext.com, along with the sites vackertvader.se and hittarecept.se, came up with the idea for the Camp.

Record Site Traffic for Expressen.se

2.2 million unique visitors came to Expressen.se during the week of August 9-15, breaking Expressen.se's previous record  

Expressen.se had 2,176,291 unique visits in week 33, August 9-15. This is 26 percent higher than the same period last year and a record for the site. It is most likely the best figure ever for a Swedish Bonnier site.

    The Web site for Sweden's largest youth magazine, Kamratposten, engages over 56,000 teens and tweens

    KPwebben, the community for Kamratposten, Sweden's 115-year-old magazine for 8 to 14 year olds, is less than two years old.  But you'd never know it from how active the site is -  56,000 members log on KPWebben.se to chat with each other, buy stuff to fill their virtual rooms, or play the "Sort poop" game. Assistant web editor Per Palmqvist keeps things running behind the scenes.

    " We can get 30,000 new posts a week in our forums. Mostly the 12-13-year-olds discuss things there.
