Life At Bonnier - Bonnier Publications

Meet Jakob Lönnborg

GROW participant takes on Beijing, a city where the pace of change is unsurpassed.

When Jakob Lönnborg landed in Beijing at the beginning of September, he found things weren't as he remembered. "I was here ten and five years ago and have now returned to a completely different city," Lönnborg says.

Meet Alex Pedersen

Alex Pedersen trades Copenhagen for Winter Park, where his co-workers go waterskiing at lunch.

The heat and humidity of Florida may be extreme for some, but for Alex Pedersen of Copenhagen, it's been anything but daunting. "This doesn't even come close to the weather in Denmark, and I absolutely love it!" Pedersen says.

Pedersen is spending three months at Bonnier Corporation in Winter park, working as a marketing project manager, helping decide on a new cause marketing campaign.

Brave Saleswoman

Julia Söderman - formerly Forsberg - on bravery, choosing your boss and having your niche.

Hello Julia Forsberg Söderman, Rookie of the Year for Bonnier Sales Awards 2010!

Some time has passed since you won. But how did your colleagues react when you arrived back at the office at Bonnier Publications after your victory? And why do you think you won?

Everyone was incredibly kind and appreciative and I saw what an honor it was to win.

Meet Casper Andersen

Moving from Denmark to China, GROW participant Casper Andersen gets a chance at helping a start-up get on its feet.

For most participating in Bonnier's GROW exchange program, the experience means moving from one established company to another for three months. But Casper Andersen, 30, who normally works with customer retention as international project manager at Bonnier Publications in Copenhagen, moving to Beijing for three months means working in a start-up company, Bonnier China, where his title is vice president.

Viivilla.se defies trend – numbers increasing

Christopher Holmerin at Bonnier Publications explains the site’s success.

While other websites are losing visitors, the Bonnier Publications Sverige site Viivilla.se is defying the trend. The number of visitors to the site has increased by 65 percent compared to the previous month, writes Vassa Eggen in its analytics newsletter. (Figures from Kia index.)

Meet Pia Beltoft Nielsen

From Denmark to Germany and magazines to books, Pia Beltoft Nielsen is experiencing life in a whole new way.

The exhilaration of starting from scratch all over again with a new job, a new apartment and new surroundings is what enticed Pia Beltoft Nielsen to the GROW program. Signing up for the work exchange program is one thing, but deciding to speak only German and taking language courses is quite another, which is exactly what Nielsen has done since she arrived in Munich almost two months ago.

Meet Julia Forsberg

Bonnier Sales Awards finalist Julia Forsberg, up for Rookie of the Year, loves the Bonnier Publications magazines she sells ads for.

Being chosen as a finalist for Bonnier Sales Awards is a big deal. So says Julia Forsberg, key account manager at Bonnier Publications in Sweden. "It's an honor to be in such great company - and extremely exciting of course!" Forsberg says.

Nominated in the category Rookie of the Year, Forsberg has been at Bonnier Publications only since May 1, 2010.

Blogging for Better Business

Anne-Grete Belmadani of Bonnier Publications explains how blogs can be used in branding and corporate communication.

Anne-Grete Belmadani, web editor at Bonnier Publications in Copenhagen, invited all of the company's employees to a blog course at the end of January: "What Makes a Blog Successful - And How Can Blogs Be Used to Improve at Your Job?"

Meet Rikke David

Danish GROW participant Rikke David gets three extra months of summer at Bonnier Corporation in Florida.

Getting used to using inches instead of centimeters is no easy task, says Rikke David, who is working for three months at Bonnier Corporation in Winter Park, Florida. "It is surprisingly different from our metric system," she says. "I think I'll buy a couple of rulers, bring them back home, and leave them laying on my colleagues desks, just for fun - they really won't be able to use them for anything."
