Augmented Job Search

Bonnier R&D uses 24 hours of entrepreneurship to prototype a new type of job searching experience.

Today was the final day in the Swedish entrepreneur event 24 Hour Business Camp (24HBC). We sponsored the event, but wanted be more active than just helping out financially. So we brought in Fredrik from Teknograd and created our own R&D Team together with Paulina and Björn.

24HBC is all about making the most of very scarce resources. You have to limit either your execution or your ambition. We chose the latter, and created a simple prototype based on the augmented reality browser Layar. Using data from the job search engine Workey and geo-data from Eniro, we merged the two in an AR-format to create the possibility to search for jobs in a geo spacial manner. This means you can look at a company´s office, point your phone at it, and find out if there are any available jobs there.

We named the project MightBe.Me. Imagine riding on a bus on your way to work, browsing the vacancies through the window thinking "Wedding Planner in Gamla Stan? That might be me?"

It was a fun little project to work with, and a great way of piloting new technology. Last year we made a little RFID project called "Honey, I'm home" that you can read more about here.

See you next year!
