Bonnier Adds Content to Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1

When Samsung's new Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer appears in Swedish telecom Telia's stores in Sweden on June 29, the computer will be filled with news and entertainment from a range of Bonnier companies. A total of 10 apps from Bonnier will be pre-installed on the device, which will be packaged together with coupons for subscriptions and premium services for the included apps. Together, purchasers will get magazines, daily newspapers, TV and films worth SEK 1,000.  

Bonnier products include apps from daily newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Sydsvenskan, business daily Dagens industri, magazines Allt om Mat, mama, Sköna Hem, Styleby och Yourlife, as well as the on-demand TV and movie services TV4 Play and SF Anytime.

Peder Bonnier, head of digital media at magazine publisher Bonnier Tidskrifter, one of the companies participating, says that the cooperation means new possibilities to offer attractive subscriptions and other offers on Android platforms.

"The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the first Android tablet on the Swedish market that has a sufficiently large screen to work well with media products," says Peder Bonnier. "It has been shown that there is a strong willingness to pay for products in tablet computers, and since we at Bonnier Tidskrifter believe in the power of the reading experience in the tablet, we want to make it as easy as possible to encounter our content."

"Through our work with Bonnier, we can offer users top-class tailored content that looks its best on a Galaxy Tab 10.1," says Karl-Oskar Tjernström, Nordic marketing manager for cell phones and tablet computers at Samsung. 

Telia will offer the Galaxy Tab 10.1 starting June 29; it will be available from other retailers starting Aug. 1.
