Bonnier Corp’s SKI Magazine Locks Nature Valley Sponsorship

The granola bar company will sponsor SKI’s NASTAR series through 2015.

A big win for Bonnier Corporation magazine SKI: A new four-year agreement keeps Nature Valley the title sponsor of the publication's signature racing series, NASTAR. Nature Valley has been a sponsor of NASTAR - the largest recreational ski and snowboard race program in the world - for the past six years, and now is locked in through the 2014-2015 season.

"We are extremely proud that Nature Valley has such tremendous dedication to SKI magazine's NASTAR event property," said Johnny Alamo, executive director of sponsorships for NASTAR. "Nature Valley's brand strategy and family focus parallel our vision for NASTAR. This partnership allows us to continue to grow and expand our family-focused recreational ski-racing platform and integrate this like-minded partner."

With Nature Valley's support, NASTAR has become the recreational race program of choice at over 120 resorts across the country, as competitors eagerly measure their skiing ability against one another's based on a national standard established each year by the fastest member of the U.S. Ski Team.

"Over the years, Nature Valley NASTAR has provided recreational skiers of all ages with a fun, racing experience," said Camille Gibson, vice president, Nature Valley. Thousands of families and friends have created lasting memories and shared connections while racing at their local mountain. Nature Valley is proud to continue its partnership with the NASTAR program and we look forward to sharing in these experiences over the next four years."

The NASTAR program has grown year over year, attracting close to one million ski racers, with more than 6 million NASTAR racer days completed, since its inception in 1968.
