Bonnier Hack Day
The Guardian has one. So does Swedish Aftonbladet. Now Bonnier is next to join the group of companies that arrange their own hacking events.
On March 11-12, 2010 (not fully confimed yet), somewhere in Stockholm, Bonnier is planning to host "Bonnier Hack Day"; inspired by unconferences such as super-entrepreneur Ted Valentin's 24 Hour Business Camp. Although talked about in public, the event first and foremost addresses internal developers, consultants and innovators. Still, in order to broaden the scope of the event, a number of inspiring external hacker rolemodels and innovators have and will be invited too. The Guardian's own "Developer advocate", Chris Thorpe, being one of them.
In short, the Hack Day concept is this: Take a concept to prototype in 24 hours and then present the prototype to your colleagues and a panel of judges. Straightforward, isn't it?
Bonnier Hack Day has several purposes:
- To boost the general willingness to innovate and develop new business models.
- To generate new, innovative ideas in an extra creative context.
- To encourage and pay extra attention to individuals who normally don't get much attention and love.
- To create a sense of mutuality and belonging, as well as encourage collaboration between Bonnier subsidiary companies.
- Make Bonnier an even more attractive company to work for.
- And most importantly: To have lots of FUN!
If you have general thoughs regarding the Hack Day concept or have personal experiences that you would like to share with us, we would love to hear them. Simply write a comment below or email us at paulina [dot] soderlund [at] bonnier [dot] se.

Hej! Allt är inte bestämt ännu men tanken är att det ska finnas något typ av tema, t ex öppna API:er. Jag tänker mig också att det ska vara en webb- eller mobiltjänst. I övrigt inga begränsningar.

//Nyfiken
