How do you help parents get their kids excited about science? With an online science fair, courtesy Parenting magazine.

When Parenting magazine wanted to come up with a way to help moms and dads get their kids excited about science, technology and the environment, they took a very hands-on approach: the Virtual Science Fair. The contest encourages kids to share their love of science by submitting a photo or video of a science experiment they completed, along with step-by-step instructions for the experiment.

Expressen Gives Out Culture Awards

On Monday, Swedish tabloid Expressen gave out its annual culture prizes. The Björn Nilsson Prize for the year's best culture journalist went to to reporter Johan Hakelius. The prize was first awarded to Björn Nilsson himself in 1994. The award includes SEk 30,000 and a statuette. A Bit of George's Hat, a theater prize, went to director Alexander Mörk-Eidem, the Heffaklumpen prize for culture for kids went to the children's theater Barnens Underjordiska Scen and the Spelmannen music prize went to Åke Holmquist.

Swedish car magazine Teknikens Värld is making news with its app that will be available for downloading with the launch of Nokia's Windows Phone in Sweden. The app is part of a bigger cooperation among Bonnier, Microsoft and Nokia.

The new app will feature the latest car news, taking advantage of touch technology with intuitive navigation.

"Users will be able to surf through news from the car world while also getting a good overview," says Daniel Frodin, editor-in-chief for Teknikens Värld.

SFVT to NBC Sports Network

Sport Fishing Television (SFTV), a Bonnier Corporation production in which editors from Bonnier's sport fishing magazines travel the globe fishing some of the world's greatest angling hot spots, has a new TV home this year: the NBC Sports Network.

The new network from NBC Sports launched the first of the year, replacing the Versus Network. The 24-hour sports mega-network backed by NBC should provide a great platform as the new home for SFTV. The show, now in its 11th season, airs every Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
