Swedish magazine publisher Bonnier Tidskrifter has opened an online store where the different magazines will sell products. In fall 2011 the store will also start offering single issues of magazines, travel and event tickets as well.
"We know that there's a potential to make money when successful magazines work together with web sales," says Emma Selfvén, business manager at BT marketing. "The idea with the store is that all visitors can buy something at bargain prices, but subscribers can get even better deals."
Customer service manager Andreas Berg has been responsible for the development of the online store.
"What we'll sell specially made products from previous campaigns that is already in stock," says Berg. "It could also be from existing brands that we partner with. In the fall we'll sell single issues of the magazines, as well as travel offers from our magazines and tickets to magazine events."
The store will be marketed first through the magazines' websites, in the printed magazines and e-mailings. Eventually social media and search word marketing will be added.
