Johan Theorin's new book will be part of the selection.
When Sweden's state-owned passenger rail system SJ launches its new customer magazine, book publisher Bonnierförlagen is along for the ride. The magazine, Book, will premier in the fall and come out twice a year with 120,000 copies printed. A large part of the magazine will be given over to excerpts from recent books. Albert Bonniers Förlag, Bonnier Fakta, Wahlström & Widstrand and Forum will all provide content, along with other big Swedish book publishers.
"The idea with Book is to reach a lot of people in an environment where they have the time and interest in reading, and to offer longer excerpts that will hopefully pique people's interest," says Bodil Unenge, who is responsible for the project at Bonnierförlagen. "The selection is made so it will be a good mix of novels, short stories, crime, non-fiction and young adult books. Plus there will be some editorial material with a clear connection to the featured books. And readers will be able to buy the books via, among others, online bookseller Adlibris."
