The Cappelen Damm Agency sold more foreign rights than ever in 2010.
Cappelen Damm's foreign rights agency Cappelen Damm Agency had a record year in 2010: A total of 355 rights were sold, an increase of 100 over 2009. Growth was particularly strong for children's and youth titles as well as mass market books, but all genres increased. The most popular authors whose books sold the most foreign rights were Roy Jacobsen and his novel Brave Kids (sold to 21 countries) and Erlend Loe with both adult books and his Kurt series for children. Karin Fossum's Sejer series also is selling very well abroad. And the award-winning author Stian Hole's picture books for children featuring the character Garmann were also sold to many new countries.
