Cappelen Damm Invests in Streaming of Audio Books

New service Ordflyt to launch in the fall in Norway.

Norwegian book publisher Cappelen Damm has signed a contract with Aspiro Music to develop and launch a new streaming service for audio books: Ordflyt. The service will be launched on the Norwegian market in the fall.

With Ordflyt, users can listen to a selection of the company's books via the computer or cell phone. With help of a book mark, listeners can continue at the same spot in the book even if they change platforms midway through. The streaming technique also means that listeners don't have to download files.

"This is an update to audio books that will appeal to both older and newer users," says Ă˜isten Wahl, book club director at Cappelen Damm. "Ordflyt will ensure our audio books are available in a whole new fashion and we're glad to offer a subscription service that we think book listeners will experience as an improvement in many ways."
