Weldon Owen and Saveur win first prizes in IACP Awards.

Bonnier Corporation's Weldon Owen and Saveur magazine each won two International Association of Culinary Professionals awards, announced at the IACP's New Culinary Order annual meeting in April in Portland, Oregon. The IACP is one of the largest global culinary organizations and has been giving out the awards since 1986.

Weldon Owen won two best "cookbook of the year" awards - one in the category "Children, Youth and Family" for Williams-Sonoma Family Meals and one in the catogory "Food Styling and Photography" for Williams-Sanoma Cooking for Friends. For Saveur, it was two Culinary Writing awards‚ one for the catogory "With Recipes" for an article by Mei Chin, "The Art of Kim Chi" and one in the catogory "Without Recipes" for an article by Shane Mitchell, "Better than Butter." Saveur was also a finalist in the "With Recipes" category for Irene Sax's "The Ice Queen" as well as in the category "Restaurant and/or Chef with or without Recipes" for Thomas McNamee's "Alice and Thomas."
