Divaani Starts Finland's First Interior Design Blog Community

The latest design news from Finland: Divaaniblogit.fi, a new blog community for those interested in interior design.

Finnish interior design magazine Divaani has compiled Finland's most interesting interior design blogs to create a new online community called Divaaniblogit.fi. The aim has been to create a visual and interactive community that promotes and develops Finnish design and home decorating culture. The site will launch tomorrow, June 1.

There are already over 2,000 interior design blogs in Finland, but both blogs and bloggers have lacked their own network. Divaani and its publisher Bonnier Publications want to raise the profile of interior design blogs and to facilitate finding them.

"We want to build a platform for passionate interior design bloggers," says Marjaana Toiminen, CEO of Bonnier Publications. "So far attention has been mostly on fashion blogs, even though decorators are already online. Divaani magazine is targeted to insatiable decorators, who have their own personal taste. There are many such interior decorators in Finland, and with this new blogger community we can provide them a forum to discuss and be inspired together."

The Divaaniblogit.fi community consists of 11 popular blogs: Avaruusasema, Adalmina's Secret, Cosy home, Kesällä kerran, Kettukarkki, Kotilo, Lounatuulia, Pics, Dots and Stripes, Sisustuskärpänen, Vihreä talo and Villi piha. All the blogs are in Finnish. They have a total of about 20,000 readers per week.

Three-year-old Divaani is Finland's best-selling interior design magazine with 91,000 readers. Divaani has increased its readership by roughly 20 percent every year.
