MTV3 News Does Its Part for the Elections

Finland's MTV3 gave voters the big and small picture in the recent presidential election.

Some nine months after controversial parliamentary elections in Finland, the country elected a new president last Sunday. And MTV3 was there all along for voters. "We have a responsibility as the biggest commercial channel in Finland," says Merja Ylä-Anttila, editor-in-chief for MTV3 News.

U.S. sport interest title Scuba Diving doesn't just write about pristine ocean environments, it does its part to support those who are working hard to keep the world's bodies of waters clean. Which is why the magazine together with others started the Sea Heroes award program last spring. And now it will continue into 2012. Last year, five heroes were chosen and Shawn Heinrichs was declared the overall winner. The first hero this year will be named in the May issue of the magazine.

7:30 at Tara

Swedish woman's magazine Tara celebrated 11 years with a dinner for readers.

When Tara turned ten last year, the Swedish women's magazine held a big party at Stockholm's Nalen club, with advertisers, partners and freelancers. But for its 11th birthday, the magazine wanted to do something completely different and decided it was the readers' turn to celebrate with Tara.

The idea, based on TV4's popular food program Halv åtta hos mig (7:30 at my place), came from the editorial staff of the magazine.
