Hailing from the town of Kungsbacka, outside Gothenburg, Jenny Boberg began her career working at MTG Radio in sales. After four years, she switched industries and jobs, and began working as a recruiting consultant and team leader for a recruitment firm. "I learned a lot and broadened my experience, but I missed working in media and with sales."
So when a job opened up at TV4 in Gothenburg in March 2009, she jumped at the chance. Now, with not even a year under her belt, Boberg, 32, has been nominated as a finalist in the Bonnier Sales Awards as Rookie of the Year.
What's best about her job, she says, is that she's got an extremely strong product to sell. "It's great to work at a company like TV4, and with a strong sales team like the one we have in Gothenburg," she says.
As for her success in becoming a finalist in the awards, she thinks it is due to a number of factors. "First, I aim high. And then I try hard to reach my goal the whole time. So I've ended up with good results. Plus it helps that I never give up - I am a very competitive person."
How does it feel to be a finalist? "Fantastic!" she says.
