Meet Kristyn Brady

Trading New York for Stockholm, Field & Stream's Kristyn Brady takes on Bonnier Media University.

When Field & Stream's Kristyn Brady applied for a GROW position at Bonnier Media University, she had no idea that so many people were interested in the exchange program. "People stopped me in the hall and congratulated me," she says.

Brady, 26, works in New York as an editorial assistant for Field & Stream editor Anthony Licata, carrying out a wide range of tasks including contracting writers, photographers and illustrators, writing photo captions for First Shots, the first two big photo spreads in the magazine, as well as dealing with the letters to the editor. "I also work with integrated marketing events, like the Heroes of Conservation awards and the Generation Wild program for kids," she says.

At Bonnier Media University in Stockholm, Brady will be working on the upcoming invitation-only GRID conference for Bonnier employees. "I'll be helping with communications to speakers and participants, with the web and really anything else that comes up," she says.

Brady only arrived in Stockholm four days ago, so she is still taking everything in. "I have had an open mind about it, so I didn't have any strong expectations for what it would be like," she says. "But one of the biggest challenges so far is that I keep expecting to hear people speaking English just in everyday conversations but of course they don't."

As for her stay in Stockholm, Brady plans to make the most of the trip. "I want to make sure I see what it's all about so I can say that I really lived here and didn't just walk from my apartment to my job every day," she says. And her advice to other people interested in the GROW experience: apply!
