"Working hard and a positive attitude keep you going" is Paul Arpikari's motto. A finalist for Rookie of the Year in the Bonnier Sales Awards, Arpikari's optimism and dedication clearly contribute to his success as a Sales Representative at MTV3. The native of Espoo, Finland's second-largest city, takes pride in listening to his customers: "I try to offer solutions for their business problems, rather than just selling ads. I listen to my customers' concerns rather than throwing them offers without asking."
His clients certainly appreciate the attention. In 2009, Arpikari brought Finnish bank Aktia in as an advertiser for the first time, and they've been so pleased with his work that they've already signed a 2010 deal with MTV3. Not bad for a sales representative who started with Bonnier less than two years ago.
But Arpikari will be the first to tell you that it's not strictly about the sales. Yes, he's had a few big deals, he says, but mostly he aims to satisfy his customers. "I'm most proud when my customers tell me how happy they are to work with me and MTV3." All that hard work and smiling he does to keep going has certainly served him well as a sales representative.
