Digital solution company Mobilab and newsstand chain Pressbyrån today launched a game for the iPhone and Android where players can win consumer goods that can be redeemed at Pressbyrån's stores. The game, Mellanmålstur, is connected to a campaign site where the top 50 players who've received the most points are listed and will get a cell-phone coupon for a product sent to their cell phones.
"Suppliers are in standing in line to have their product launches done with Mellanmålstur," says Joachim Alvarez of Mobilab. "The prizes will be distributed as cell-phone coupons, and each new product represents a new customer for us."
The game will be updated during holidays such as Easter, midsummer and Christmas. It will be marketed via YouTube, Pressbyrån's and the brand owners' own channels, among other ways.
"We believe the game can have a strong viral dissemination with the help of, among other things, Facebook, which has worked well for previous campaigns," says Alvarez. "And it's great that the interest among suppliers is so strong."
