New Book Series from Bonnier Publishing

Bonnier Publishing CEO Richard Johnson announces a cooperation with Discovery Communications to produce a new children's book series tied to TV program Animal Planet.

Discovery Communications and Bonnier Publishing are teaming up to produce a new line of Animal Planet-themed children's books. The first books will be available in spring 2011 and distributed globally.

The series will include novelty, reference and activity books for kids ages 3 to 13.

"Bonnier Publishing was attracted to Animal Planet because there are few global brands that align so well with the core values of our group and fit exactly into our publishing programs and distribution around the world," says Richard Johnson, CEO of Bonnier Publishing. "Animal Planet reaches 166 countries in many of which we sell our products. We look forward to working with the network and our publishing partners to maximize the distribution potential."

International distribution will be handled by Templar Publishing (U.K.), Weldon Owen (Australia) and Five Mile Press (Australia).

This is fantastic news. My son Tristan loves Animal Planet as do I, so we will be looking forward to the launch. Please keep the information flowing and if you want any early reactions from a passionate 7-year-old, holler.
