Over the years a plethora of councils and networks had grown in Bonnier. Some worked fine, others not so well. But foremost the structure hadn't changed with the organization. This summer a restructuring of the councils was made. And to give it a boost, the mandates were clarified and an international perspective was added.
"The objective with our new councils is to capture and channel all the great ideas that exist in our companies," says Mårten Lyth, Chief Communications Officer at Bonnier. "They will also enable and foster collaboration and cooperation within the whole group that benefit the companies. The councils will also be a forum for discussion and exchanging experiences across companies and markets on issues that concern us on a daily basis, such as digital media, financial issues, HR and recruiting."
Today there are four councils; Financial Forum (Chairman Göran Öhrn), HR Forum (Chairman Lennart Wiklund), Nordic Council (Chairman Torsten Larsson) and New Media Council (Chairman Sara Öhrvall). All groups are now international in their composition as well as scope. Linked to each council are a few networks that are more issue specific. To the Financial Forum it may concern procurement and to the HR Forum CSR. The councils will also be available as open groups on our social network BonFire, where everyone within Bonnier may post questions or suggestions and get information on the councils and networks.
The councils will all have had their start-up meetings during this fall. The most active of the councils so far is perhaps the New Media Council, of which Sara Öhrvall, Director of R&D, is Chairman.
"New Media Council was established to gather up the innovations and ideas in digital media that spire in our different companies," says Sara Öhrvall. "There is great demand for exchanging experiences and finding synergies between our operations. The commitment to digital media development is strong and I believe we have got a good start. This fall we will be able to present different types of projects as a result of our work."
