Parenting School Years Increases Circulation

The five-month-old edition of Parenting magazine increases its rate base by 10%, with the highest number of paid subscribers in the parenting category in the U.S.

Parenting School Years, the five-month-old edition of Parenting magazine for moms of school-age children, will increase its circulation to 550,000 as of the February 2010 issue, a 10% increase from its launch circulation.  This is the first rate base increase for the U.S. Bonnier Corporation's Parenting since 2001.

The magazine also now boasts the highest number of paid subscribers in the parenting category.

"This positive—and immediate—response is a testament to the power of providing more targeted content, and has allowed us to organically grow our readership at a significant pace," says Greg Schumann, Vice President and Group Publisher of The Parenting Group.

Folio Mag reports that titles such as the Parenting School Years edition and the Food Network magazine, who use a multiplatform strategy to target a narrow group of readers, have defied rate reduction trends seen at more general titles.

DM News reports that Parenting School Years will also appear on newsstands for the first time in September.

Parenting Early Years' circulation will remain at 1.65 million.
