R&D Summary - week 50

This weeks summary of Bonnier R&D's activities

This week we have been finalizing a video describing our first Digital Magazine Prototype together with Berg in London. We will be presenting our initial thoughts on how future reading on handheld devices may look like.

We have also started up our cooperation with San Francisco-based Kicker Studio so it has been a fascinating week full of creative workshops. We will be working with a well-experienced team:
Dan Saffer is the author of two books on interaction design, Designing for Interaction and Designing Gestural Interfaces. He is a distinguished speaker and has designed acclaimed products for Nokia, CNN, and Time Warner.
Jennifer Bove has extensive experience in research, service design and mobile service design. Her design management background includes the Prada Epicenter store in New York, which inaugurated a new paradigm of tangible retail experiences. Before Kicker, Jenn was VP of User Experience at HUGE and at Schematic, and is on the faculty at New York’s School of Visual Arts MFA in Interaction Design.
Jody Medich has an extensive resume in branding and has created multi-channel products for companies from Cadillac to Sony and has been Creative Director at Yahoo!.

Guest stars this week in San Francisco has been Emil Ovemar (user experience R&D) and Matt Jones (Berg, London).

Paulina working hard to build our virtual R&D Beta Lab.  It will be ready for our Beta Launch (of course) next week. The Beta Lab will be a part of bonnier.com and used as an open testing environment where our ideas about future media trends and products are shared and discussed.

This week we have also:
Been celebrating Creative Commons' 7th birthday, played a lot with our new toys: the Eee tablet touch screen and the new Kindle as well as enjoyed a lot of Christmas parties.
Finally, we want to welcome little Nova, the daughter of Pontus to the world.
