Expressen.se had 2,176,291 unique visits in week 33, August 9-15. This is 26 percent higher than the same period last year and a record for the site. It is most likely the best figure ever for a Swedish Bonnier site. Expressen.se led with two big pieces that week, the Princess Madeleine engagement and an article series on Afghanistan.
The previous record was 2,025,509 unique visits during the week when Expressen revealed Crown Princess Victoria's engagement.
"This is yet more proof that our journalism attracts a wider audience in different channels," says Expressen Editor-in-Chief Thomas Mattsson.
But the forthcoming royal wedding did not capture the most readers. With 20 million views, that slot went to the tragic news of the great trotting tipster Anders "Dajmen" Jonasson, who died days after he disappeared.
