Tallinn and Thomas

GROW's Lisa Julius meets the CEE of the Bonnier Business Press and shows her husband Tallinn's Old Town.

Tallinn is waking up from her winter rest. All around, there is a flurry of activity...the umbrellas are going up on the cafes, new activities and stands are setting up in anticipation of the tourists and the flowers are starting to bloom.

My husband is in town this week, so I have been able to take him on a tour of Old Town.  He is impressed with the architecture and history of the buildings and I think he is surprised I have learned so much about them already.  We climbed to the top of Vana Toomas ('Old Thomas', which is funny because this is also my husband's name) yesterday...up was not bad but down was a little bit scary because the stairs are not well lit and are very steep.   We also made a trip for the afternoon to the Tallinn Zoo, which is a nice zoo but some of the animals really need new enclosures.  They are trying to raise money to give the tigers a new home.

The Bonnier Business Press Central and Eastern Europe CEO was here from Sweden this week so I had a chance to meet him.  There are some additional strategy meetings planned for later in the week that will better determine the direction of some of the projects I am currently working on.   I think that things are going well here so far...it is hard to believe a month has already passed.
