Toca Boca Telenor Digital Winner 2011

Yesterday, at the Digital Winners conference, Telenor announced that the winner of this year's Digital Winners Prize is Toca Boca, the toy studio that makes digital toys for kids in the form of apps. The prize is worth NOK 200,000 and includes business development with Telenor Comoyo with the goal of distribution through Telenor consumer operations.

"The winner's development of digital toys for touch screens and focus on learning, enabling small kids their first safe interactive digital experience whilst providing an open ended play, focus on imagination, no winning or losing has been recognized. The winner is an example of clever ideas developed in a R&D environment in close relationship with the users in this case the small kids," said jury chair Rolv-Erik Spilling, senior vice president and deputy head Telenor Digital Services and Nordic.

Said Toca Boca's Björn Jeffery: "We are both proud and happy for this very prestigious award. It shows that we are on the right track in introducing families to fun, creative and safe digital toys for kids. We're especially glad that the jury recognized our work with open-ended play - where kids just have fun, and don't have to compete or get stressed."
