TV400 to Become TV11

On January 19 the new TV11 premieres - a relaunch of TV400 with a focus on entertainment.

Big Brother, a show acquired by the TV4 Group, will be one of the programming highlights when TV11 launches on Jan. 19, 2011, replacing the current TV400. The audience for the channel is primarily 15-39 year olds and the programming will focus on entertainment.

"With TV11 we're taking yet another big step in challenging our competitors for the younger viewer audience," says Åsa Sjöberg, director of programming for the TV4 Group. "TV11 is a channel for people who love TV and see it primarily as entertainment. A lot of tongue-in-cheek hilarity and hot topics are in store for viewers."

Among the programming, aside from Big Brother, will be popular series such as Glee, Heroes, Californication, 30 Rock and American Idol, as well as upcoming comedy series such as Mixed Signals, Raising Hope and Worst Week, as well as reality show Rupaul's Drag Show Race and blockbuser films such as Borat, X-Men and No Country for Old Men. Plus additional upcoming new American drama series that TV4 Group has the rights to will also be shown.

"There's big business potential in the segment that TV400 has had, and TV11 will take over, both in terms of viewers and the brand," says Peter Lindström, channel director for the TV4 Group. "With the launch of TV11 and its strong programming schedule, TV4 Group can offer both the public and our advertisers an even stronger offering.
