This year's competition, held by Bonnier AB's management to promote and reward exceptional performance and outstanding results in the Group's advertising units, is the third of its kind. There are four prize categories: Field Sales Representative of the year, Telephone Sales Representative of the Year, Sales Manager of the Year and Rookie of the Year. First prize in the three main categories is EUR 10,000, and Rookie of the Year receives EUR 3,000. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Stockholm next year.

Jonas Eriksson, Awards organizer, what is the aim of the competition?

"We want to highlight a group of Bonnier staff who don't always get that much attention; our sales people. It's important to do this anytime, but its crucial right now, given how tough the market has been this year."

Shouldn't you be saving money in a recession rather than splashing out on a flashy gala evening and giving away huge cash prizes?

"Not at all. This year is just the sort of year when we really need to highlight how important the sales people are for us."

Given the recession, what are you expecting from the sales teams this year?

"The truth is that we have heard of exceptional achievements right across our sales units, but of course it is enormously challenging to meet financial targets in this sort of year."

Who is eligable to compete?

"All sales people and sales managers working at a Bonnier company can compete, but to be nominated in one of the three main categories, you need to have worked throughout the whole of 2009."

Who can nominate, and how does the nomination process work?

"Sales managers and CEOs are the only ones able to nominate people, but of course anyone is free to suggest candidates to them."
